There is hardly any documentation that tells us about the old Urnieta Hospital.
We know that in 1555 Catalina Barkaiztegi gave a duchy to this hospital.
Around 1850, the new Urnieta hospital was opened, on “the ascent of the slope up to the church”. 
In 1958 the Town Council sold this building used as a residential hospital.
